I never thought it would happen, but my heart has been stolen. There is a new little lady in my life, white-blond hair, deep brown eyes and freckles. Those freckles are everywhere! Shhhh, don’t tell my wife.
Actually, I think my wife is just as smitten as I am. About a month and a half ago, we brought home our English Bulldog, Mable.
She is the sweetest soul who wants to constantly be in your lap or just making contact with you. This should prove interesting as she grows to her full size at 50 lbs.

Mable gets so excited to see you that her little butt curls around so that she can back towards you to be picked up. She is a shoe thief who loves to steal my wife’s flip-flops and untie the leather laces of my deck shoes.
She is curious but not fearful. We took her for a ride through her first car wash.
Mable loves to lay down for a nap. She gets so excited, she runs in circles on the bed until we lay down together. She wedges her back against my chest and settles down.
She is very good at sharing the love between my wife and me, even if the rascal does try to eat all of our hostas as they come up through the ground. The joy she brings to our lives even makes the early morning wake-up calls worth it.
You walk through the door, and she just makes your whole day a little better.
