Tell us Your Origin Story.

Where I was born

I was born in Poland in the late ’70s. At the age of six, my parents, my little sister and I moved to Denmark to pursue a better life.  Denmark became our home for the next four years. Life was good, and we were happy, but my parents knew that Canada was a country full of opportunity and work, so we uprooted again and moved again.  Mississauga became our new home, and we couldn’t have been happier.  I grew up in Mississauga in the area of Hurontario and Queensway. I went to Saint Catherine of Siena elementary school, and later, I attended St. Paul Secondary School for grade 9 and moved to St. Martin’s for the remainder of high school.

“Home” is the reason I’m here, and knowing that I can be a part of someone’s journey to finding their dream home makes this the most rewarding career.

Where I grew up

I loved growing up in Mississauga, and I knew it like the back of my hand; never in a million years would I have thought that I’d end up in Milton.  After high school, I went to Humber College, where I got my Social Work diploma. I was barely out of college when I was offered a temporary position as a corporate events coordinator. This temporary position lasted 11 years. Needless to say, I never got into social work.  At 21 years old, I went to Mexico and met a boy from Scarborough; yes, I had to go to Mexico to find him. We fell in love, started a family and moved to Milton because the prices of homes in Mississauga were unaffordable -one of the reasons I find myself helping people move to Milton to this day.

Where I am now

We loved everything about Milton, the Escarpment, the trails, the small-town feel, and we knew Milton was meant to be. After our boys were born, I started working at the school board, as this allowed me more time off to watch them grow.  Once the boys got older and didn’t need me as much, it was time to pursue a career that I was passionate about.
I will never forget that feeling of buying our first home, we felt proud, and we were happy.  Home is where everything begins; it is the start of a new chapter, a place where families feel a sense of safety, security and unity.  “Home” is the reason I’m here, and knowing that I can be a part of someone’s journey to finding their dream home makes this the most rewarding career.

What food gets your mouth watering?

I love trying new foods. My fav is Indian, Thai or Greek.  I love the way certain flavours of herbs and spices blend to create such deliciousness. Sometimes the simplicity of ingredients make the dish unbelievably tasty…like a buddha bowl, so simple, so fresh, so delicious (I probably make one 3 times a week)

Where would we find you on a hot summer’s day?

On a hot summer day, you’ll find me on a beach or somewhere near the water.

Where are you most likely to be found on a cold winter’s day?

There is nothing prettier than hiking the Escarpment in the winter.

Early Bird or Night Owl?

I feel I’m a little bit of both…I love staying up late as it’s my alone time to enjoy some wine and catch up on shows I’ve missed, but I also enjoy waking up early enjoying a coffee before anyone else wakes up.

All-time favourite movie?

Anything with Gerard Butler…LOL (not kidding). Honestly, though, I don’t have one…I love movies, and it just depends on my mood.  I love a good action-packed movie, but I also enjoy a sappy love story.

Tell us about your ideal Forever Home.

My ideal forever home is one where my loved ones surround me… but it would also be a bungalow on a few acres with a wrap-around porch overlooking a small lake where my kids can swim in the summer and play hockey in the winter.
