October’s Home Checklist

October’s Checklist!

Welcome back to #KTQuickTips with your favourite Milton Real Estate Agents – Where we give our tips and advice on buying and selling Real Estate.

This is #KTQuickTip #86 and today we want to discuss your October Home Maintenance Check List!

October might be the last month that you can get some work done outside of the house. So, we have three things that we want you to do in October.

#1. Repair and Reseal your Driveway

During the winter months, water can find its way through the existing cracks, and when it freezes, it makes those cracks even worse. Repair and Reseal it now, so you can extend the life of your driveway.

#2. Feed your Grass

To ensure a healthy start for your lawn next spring, you’ll want to apply a fall fertilizer now. Fall fertilizers slowly release nutrients over the winter months to ensure that your lawn has a healthy start next year. You’ll want to do it before the first frost, so, be sure to get on that right away.

#3. Seal your Window and Doors

You will want to check all of the caulking and weather stripping around your windows and doors. If any of it is damaged, dried out, or missing, it’s time to replace that. You will want to ensure that you don’t lose any heat during the colder months.

And there you have it – Your October home maintenance checklist. Check in next month for November’s monthly checklist!

BTW – with the cold weather upon us, you may find that you’re getting a build-up of condensation on windows, here’s how to fix it.
