February Home Maintenance List

February is a great time to knock off a few to-do list items for your home. Not sure where to start? Here are a few of our top suggestions for your February Home Maintenance:

Inspect Your Attic

During the cold winter months, your roof takes a beating, which makes it a great time of year to have your yearly inspection. With snow and ice accumulation, it’s totally possible that water may penetrate in some areas. Since it’s cold outside, little critters may also be looking for warmth and can find their way into your attic, creating damage and leaving droppings behind. We highly recommend popping up into the attic at least once per year, or twice per year if you can, just to make sure everything is in order.

Clean Out Your Fridge

February is also the perfect month to clean out your fridge and freezer since you can easily place your food outdoors as you thoroughly clean it. We also suggest pulling your refrigerator out from the wall and using a vacuum to clean up any dirt, debris, and pet hair that may have accumulated there over the past few months.

Plan Your Landscaping

If you’re planning any new landscaping ideas for this spring and summer, book a landscaper for an inspection, as they fill up quickly during warmer months!

Contact Your Realtor if You Plan to Sell

If you’re thinking of selling during the spring or summer, now is a good time to get in touch with a Realtor. They will give you a list of items to work on over the coming months, so you can prepare your home for a quick sale, instead of leaving all the work to last minute.
