Can you believe the school year is almost ending? Haven’t planned anything for the kids this summer yet? Don’t worry, here are some ideas to keep your kids busy and happy during the summer months in Halton!

Day or overnight camp at Fallbrook Trail Ranch

If your kids are into learning how to ride horses and care for them, this is the camp for them!  Kids (10 years old and up) or “Rangers” as they like to call them, learn to ride, groom, feed and handle a variety of horses during their time here.  They will also do other sporting activities throughout the day.  What a great way for your kids to learn how to care for an animal and get their energy out at this day camp!

There will be no live bait and anyone over 18 years old will need to have an Ontario Fishing Licence.  Enjoy the great outdoor on a beautiful July day and catch some fish!

Who doesn’t love exploring different foods at a food truck event! Every year at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington, foodies gather to enjoy all different foods and drinks from food trucks around the Province. “Amazing Things to do before you are 12” Event! (Mountsberg and Crawford Lake Conservation Area)

Exploring the outdoors made easy! On August 18 and August 19, head over to either Mountsberg or Crawford Lake Conservation Area to have a fun filled day!  Check these things off your bucket list before you turn the big 1-2. Learn how to make a nest like a bird, touch a snake, and learn how to start a fire without a match (a life skill everyone should have!) They are even having a mud pie kitchen at Mountsberg! And you can also test your archery skills at Crawford Lake.  There will be live snakes and raptor presentations throughout the day too. This event is free with gate admission or FREE if you are a parks member!

Summer is short in Canada so get out there and enjoy every second of it with your family… Embrace the heat and enjoy what Halton has to offer!
