On today’s podcast, Episode 122, Adrian and Ariel discuss the reason why one may choose to renovate a home as apposed to sell it, and why one may choose to sell a home instead of renovating it.
As the seasons change and time moves on so do our needs and wants from a homes size and function. It is for this reason that after living in a home for a while, the question often arrises, should we renovate our home or sell it and move?
There are pros and cons to choosing either renovations or moving and each are heavily impacted by the exact needs you have for your living space. If it is a redesign to stay modern then a bit of home improvement can easily get you there. However if it is bigger back yard that you require, or more privacy, or perhaps just a different set of neighbours completely, moving may be the better route. When it comes to buying a home with a pool or having on installed it becomes a bit more tricky.
No matter your reasons for needing change, it is always best to weigh the pros and cons before rushing into anything. Sometimes with the help of a professional something you thought to be undoable is suddenly getting done. Or something you thought would be simple turns out to be a most more costly endeavour, more costly than moving.
When to move, when to renovate, and how many cars does a family really need. All of that and more on KT Confidential – Real Estate Podcast.

The founders, Ariel Kormendy and Adrian Trott, started The Kormendy Trott Team, a real estate team based out of Halton region in Ontario, after both being in need of a change from their successful careers in the automotive industry and both experiencing the lack of service being provided in the real estate industry. They kicked off their careers in 2011 and quickly became a top-performing team in the country, ranking 17th of approximately 200 for Century 21 in 2017; as a team of just the two of them compared to much larger teams. They decided that they needed to take their team from being real estate agents in Milton to the rest of the GTA and beyond by expanding and servicing more areas. The team has since grown to have an administrative arm, media department and successful sales team operating a smooth running and successful business.
