Many of you are probably thinking why on earth would anyone do their own home inspection. It is true, if you have the time and it is possible to have one professionally done we agree that is your best option. But when the market is hot, which it currently, everything moves a little faster and leaves less time for buyers to take all the proper steps and precautions. In the local markets here we can see a house sell in just a couple of days after being listed leaving no time for a home inspection and at best just gives you a 30 minute window when at the showing to inspect the property.
It is for that reason that we want to share the best things to keep in mind when touring a house and what are some common issues or areas to look out for. The most important thing to remember is to SLOW DOWN and make sure not to rush when inspecting a home. It is when we rush that simple things can be easily overlooked and missed leading to bigger issues in the future.
