On today’s podcast, episode #88, we discuss the changes that have evolved over the last few months pertaining to open houses in the local real estate market.
With open houses becoming illegal in province of Ontario since COVID, many agents have had to quickly adopt new ways to inform and educate the public and potential buyers on the availability of their listings. A couple practices that are being adopted by the industry are virtual open houses, 3D tours of the properties, and overall extensive coverage online via marketing materials such as photos, videos, and social posts.
We feel there will always be the debate over the purpose of traditional open houses and how effective they really are. We believe that in this industry, exposure is extremely important when it comes to getting your home seen by any potential buyer. So despite the changes that have taken place in the past months, we believe that the value of traditional open houses is too much to pass up. With things slowly getting back to “normal” it will only be a matter of time before we see things return to that way they were, with the addition of all of these new methods of online marketing remaining just as important.
