Are First Time Home-Buyers Screwed? | KT Confidential EP135

On this podcast, episode 135, Adrian and Ariel discuss if there is any hope for first time home-buyers with the ridiculous cost of down payment combined with morgatge insurance in the Canadian market.

Bloomberg claims that Toronto and Vancouver now rank in the world’s top five most expensive cities. But it was predicted that housing prices would fall during the pandemic.

For many home-buyers, this question comes up of “Can I afford to own a property?” For many of them, this question is becoming less and less of a reality with how the market is looking.

What Ariel and Adrien suggest to do is to save as much money as you can and lower your expectations. Many home buyers expect to get the fanciest house on the street and shy away from a modest apartment. We are not saying to lower your expectations for life, we just want homebuyers to realize that this takes hard work, time and consistent saving to buy your dream home. On top of that its about trusting your real estate agent to look past the cosmetic deficiencies and don’t get caught up in buying the perfect place in the beginning.

All of that and more on KT Confidential – Real Estate Podcast.

The founders, Ariel Kormendy and Adrian Trott, started The Kormendy Trott Team, a real estate team based out of Halton region in Ontario, after both being in need of a change from their successful careers in the automotive industry and both experiencing the lack of service being provided in the real estate industry. They kicked off their careers in 2011 and quickly became a top-performing team in the country, ranking 17th of approximately 200 for Century 21 in 2017; as a team of just the two of them compared to much larger teams. They decided that they needed to take their team from being real estate agents in Milton to the rest of the GTA and beyond by expanding and servicing more areas. The team has since grown to have an administrative arm, media department and successful sales team operating a smooth running and successful business.
